My story starts from my grandfather father, who was one of the wealthiest and renowned personality(in hometown) of his era. Acknowledging his courage, valor, strength and popularity, the british chieftan of my hometown honored him with title 'Mall', meaning 'fighter' in Sanskrit. Since then, all his descendants inherited this title as their last name. After he passed away, his wealth was distributed among his sons.
My grandfather had one weakness-immeasurable spirit of patriotism(Deshbhakti ka keeda)
.Selling off acres of land, he spent thousands(equivalent to lakhs of present era) of bucks
on indian independence movement. Very Proudly, he went to jail couple of times.
After indian independence, Selling off his personal fortune he visited diffrent parts
of india to write a book on mahatma gandhi and indian independence movement.
Though the book was well-compiled and stupendously written,
book failed to attract readers and hence collapsed miserably.
(Click below arrow to know 'why his book failed?')
Following were the three reason for its failure
1) Book was written in Hindi and So, did not attract foreign readers.
2) Money was not spent on advertisements and commericial promotion.
3) He failed to realise social economics of india.
More than 80 % of the indian population was below poverty line and out
of the remaining 20%, 90% of the population was illiterate or were not
interested in reading books, novels or stories.
After losing all his fortune, he regretted his luxurious standards of living and unwise mistakes in expenditure of money. He got a piece of land and house from one of the brothers. Unable to pay off the debt, his health deteriorated every passing day. Soon, he got paralysed and passed away, owing to lack of medical treatment and unhealthy living standards.Despite of being highly talented, he failed to make the mark unlike his father and I guess, this was one of the main factors behind his paralyzed death.
Despite of being a well educated man, my father spent two decades of hardship for lifting us out of poverty. Why? Because he was a honest person (Yeah!!!Honesty sucks and corrupt's fuc..!!!!Dare to be a honest person). His lateral philosophy and moral values(Ex: Kshatriya should give but not beg) never permitted him to take any help or money from anyone. His sufferings magnified after the downfall of textile industry(in mumbai) that forced him to work on half salary for more than ten years, with no increment and promotions. Dumping his vested poetical ambitions, he spent all his bucks on his children's education. After two decades of opression and misery, all his children's were successful in earning a reputed degree from recognized university. All of them are well settled today.
My grandfather failed to become a successful writer/poet whereas my father withdrew his poetical interests for the sake of our good education. Therefore now, I am facing the moral obligation to achieve what my ancestors failed to achieve. So, My dream should be to do what my ancestors failed to do. Though I have enough money to launch couple of books, my family would never support the idea of launching stuffs(books) out of my own money. Why? Because that's the moral of my grandfather story. But If I am able to get sufficient funds then I can convince my parents in launching these books, thereby accomplishing the dreams of my ancestors.
Thanks For reading....and helping????
